Frequently asked questions
These are the questions that come up most. If yours is not here, ask it in the Discord and someone will answer.
Is this a FACEIT replacement?
No, and it could not be. That model needs a game with millions of people playing it right now and a working relationship with its publisher — that is what pays for it. A 2005 game running on community servers is never going to be that, which is exactly why nobody has built this. They hand you a match. We rebuild the league: the seasons, the tiers, the standings, the servers and the record of who played.
What even is this?
A league and a matchmaking service for old PC games, plus the servers, the stats and the tooling that make those possible. Right now that means Call of Duty and Call of Duty 2.
Can I get a game tonight?
Honestly: it depends who else is around. Four queues are open — 1v1 and 5v5 on both games — and a duel starts as soon as two people are in it. That is the real answer at this size, and it is the number we are trying to move.
Do I have to install anything?
To play the game at all you need the community patch, and there is a one-click script for that. Ranked queues also require the integrity agent; the open queues today do not.
Is the anti-cheat going to own my computer?
No. It has no kernel driver, and it does not modify the game. It also does not claim to catch everything, and it would be dishonest to say otherwise.
Why do I have to wait for approval?
Because this is a closed beta and a person opens every account by hand. You give an email, we send you a link, you finish setting up the account, and then someone approves it and you get an email when that happens. It is a small group on purpose right now, so if you are in, you are early.
Which games are next?
Undecided, and we would rather say that than list games nobody has started on. The rule is that a game gets added when the players are still there and the infrastructure is not.
The scope, stated up front
This is not a general esports platform and it is not going to become one. It is for a short list of old PC games, chosen because the players are still there and the infrastructure is not.
There is no player counter, match counter, uptime figure or growth chart anywhere on this site. Every factual claim on this page is drawn from the platform's own code and is listed, with its source, in the project's backlog entry for these pages.
